The bedroom was amazing, decorated in with many antique pieces with lots of storage. Our room had a very ornate ceiling which was beautiful. We even had a balcony overseeing the park. However, the mattress was as hard as concrete, the pillows were terribly thin, the bathroom was extremely tiny, almost unusable. Breakfast was below average featuring mostly pastries and some cold cuts. The elevator is almost useless . I was very happy when we left this hotel.
The bathroom is too dark and small, can barely turn when I’m taking a shower even tho i’m already petite. The bathroom couldn’t be closed as well. Luckily, my room is on the ground floor with a street view. a bit noisy in the morning, but better than having no window! Staffs were very nice and the breakfast is acceptable. Worth the price!
Authentic townhouse vibe hotel with friendly and helpful staff, very close to historic city centre. Rooms are small, clean and comfortable but a bit tired looking. Set your expectations right and you are in for a comfortable stay.
So dated! Maybe we were unlucky with the room and others have been updated. This had peeling paint and mold in the shower. The breakfast area was dark and small. Staff seemed over worked and didn't have time to explain breakfast, or mention there was a lovely roof terrace. However they did look after our bags when we arrived really early off the ferry. It was also in a great position for everything.
Amazing ,simply concept and really hommy...and also great staff they has ,very" make us safe n comfortable to stay, and also good breakfast menu ,i was proud of joli
THIS REVIEW IS FROM A FEW YEARS AGO: Beautiful, old world, romantic. The price was reasonable - the atmosphere priceless. High ceilings, ceiling paintings, fixtures of another era. Elegant.
We were a bit disappointed by this hotel. We were thinking to stay in a old but charming hotel. In the end it wasn't the best experience. it was the most expensive hotel we had in Sicily and really not the best.
1. Bathroom : Big NO for us. As mentioned by other guests the bathroom is really small and outdated. Our shower head did not work properly, it did oblige us to get closer and closer to the wall. The bathroom need to be completely refurbished. Some part of the tiles were started to mold. However the water is really warm if it is what you like.
2. Our room was on a ground floor. With really bad isolation. Near a loud restaurant and street. Also near the reception. Other guest wasnt happy about his room situation ( which we understood). But on 4 nights we stayed at the hotel, we only slept properly once. We live in Mexico city not a village and we are used to the noise normally. Maybe with another room it would have been better.
3. Furnitures in the room :
- a fridge was one of the bed table of the bed. We thought it was a bit weird but ok why not. Unfortunately it did not even work.
- Cupboard smelled bad.
- Change the pillows is recommended
4. Cleaning was done daily and really well. Big plus for the property
5. The location of the hotel is not so bad. Walking distance to the main streets if you don't mind walking 10 to 20 mins. 25/30 min to reach the train station walking.
6. The staff is nice, we did not speak much with them.
Overall : its ok, but disappointed
Great location, only downside is that our bathroom wasn't very nice and had mould on the ceiling/was just a bit small....needs updating. Breakfast was nice, continental style and the staff were friendly and helpful
